Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026-09-26
These terms are the agreement between you and us about using Timerbeam: the website, the editor and dashboard, the countdown images and pages it serves, the API and the MCP server. Please read them together with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal data.
1. Who we are
Timerbeam is operated by Pásztor Tibor Zoltán e.v. (egyéni vállalkozó, a sole proprietor registered in Hungary), registration number: 51369394; seat: 2131 Göd, Aulich u. 5., Hungary; tax number: 68185413-1-33; email: hello@timerbeam.com. Timerbeam's servers are hosted by DigitalOcean, LLC (digitalocean.com), in its Frankfurt, Germany data centre.
2. How the agreement is made
- The agreement starts when you create an account — or, if you use Timerbeam without one (for example a one-off timer from the editor), when you first use the service. A paid plan starts when you complete checkout.
- Before you submit a form or a payment, you can review and correct everything you entered; nothing is binding until you press the button that submits it.
- The agreement is concluded in English and electronically. We don't file it as a separate document: these terms are always available on this page, and you can save or print them. We don't follow any code of conduct.
- Timerbeam is built for businesses that send email — marketers, agencies, developers. If you nevertheless use it as a consumer, the rights consumer law gives you still apply (see section 7).
3. The service
Timerbeam creates countdown timers that render as animated images in email, with an optional landing page for each. You design a timer, then paste its image link into your own email. Timerbeam does not send email: your email service provider does, and you remain responsible for your campaigns and for complying with the laws that apply to them, including consent and anti-spam rules.
How a timer looks in an inbox also depends on the email client. Some clients show only the first frame of an animated image, and some cache images, so the countdown a recipient sees may not update on every open. This is outside our control.
4. Your account
- Give us a working email address and keep your password secret. One account is for one person or organisation.
- You're responsible for what happens under your account, including actions taken with your API keys and by apps you connect (for example an AI assistant connected through the MCP server). Revoke a key or a connected app as soon as you no longer trust it.
- Tell us at once if you think someone else has gained access to your account.
5. Plans, limits and one-off timers
- Each plan's features and limits are listed on our pricing. The Free plan costs nothing, has lower limits, and its timers carry Timerbeam branding.
- Saved timers count toward your plan's limit while they're live. At the limit you can't create new ones until one expires, you delete one, or you upgrade — existing timers keep working.
- Impressions (opens of your saved timers' images, per calendar month) are never used to stop a timer you've already sent. If your usage stays well above your plan's limit, we'll contact you and ask you to move to a plan that fits.
- One-off timers are links with the timer built in: they can't be edited, don't count toward any limit, and always carry Timerbeam branding.
- To keep the service fast and safe for everyone, requests are rate-limited. Normal use, including real email campaigns and the API, stays well within these limits.
6. Payment, renewal and cancellation
- Paid plans are billed in advance, monthly or yearly, in US dollars, through our payment processor, Stripe. Your card details go to Stripe and never reach our servers. If VAT or a similar tax applies to your purchase, it's shown before you pay.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period, at the then-current price, until you cancel.
- You can cancel at any time under Manage billing in your dashboard. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you've paid for, then your account moves to the Free plan. We don't refund the unused part of a period, except where the law requires it (see section 7).
- If a renewal payment fails, your account moves to the Free plan until the payment goes through.
- We may change prices. A new price applies to you only from your next renewal, and we'll email you at least 30 days before it does, so you can cancel first if you don't want to continue.
- On the Free plan, after a cancellation or downgrade, your timers keep working, including those already in inboxes, but they follow your current plan: they carry Timerbeam branding again, and you can't switch on features your plan no longer includes.
7. Consumers in the EU: right of withdrawal
If you buy a paid plan as a consumer in the European Union, you may withdraw from that purchase within 14 days, without giving a reason, by emailing us at hello@timerbeam.com. Because the plan starts as soon as you pay — at your request — we'll refund what you paid minus the proportionate part for the days you had the plan, within 14 days of receiving your notice, to the card you paid with.
8. Acceptable use
You may not use Timerbeam to:
- send unsolicited or deceptive email, or support any campaign that breaks the law;
- show content that is illegal, infringes someone else's rights (including trademarks and copyright), or is hateful, harassing or sexually explicit;
- mislead people — for example a fake deadline that pretends to be a legal or official one, or phishing;
- attack or overload the service, get around its limits, access other people's accounts or data, or probe it for vulnerabilities without our written permission;
- resell or rebrand the service as your own without our written agreement.
If a timer breaks these rules, we may stop serving it. If an account does, we may suspend or close it (see section 11).
9. Your content and ours
- What you create — timer texts, colours, brand kits, labels — remains yours. You give us permission to store, render and serve it, only as far as needed to run the service for you. You confirm you have the right to use it.
- Timerbeam itself — the software, design, templates and the fonts it renders with — belongs to us or our licensors. You may use it through the service; you may not copy, decompile or reuse it outside it.
- Where we process personal data of your recipients on your behalf (for example the recipient key of an evergreen timer), we do so as your processor, only to run the service, as described in our Privacy Policy. Contact us if you need a data processing agreement.
10. Availability and changes to the service
We work to keep Timerbeam available and fast, and we back up its data regularly, but we can't promise that it will always be uninterrupted or error-free. Maintenance and events outside our control can cause interruptions. We improve the service continuously and may change or retire features. If we remove a feature that a paid plan explicitly includes, we'll tell you in advance, and you may cancel and receive a refund for the unused part of your current period.
11. Ending the agreement
- You can stop using Timerbeam at any time and delete your account yourself from your dashboard. Deleting it cancels your subscription immediately, without a refund of the remaining period, so cancel first if you want to use it to its end. Timers you've already sent keep working, with Timerbeam branding, but they're no longer tied to you.
- We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, or when the law requires us to. Where we can, we'll warn you first and give you a chance to fix the problem. If we close a paid account for any other reason, we'll refund the unused part of your current period.
12. Liability
- The service is provided as it is and as available, to the extent the law allows.
- We're not liable for indirect or consequential loss — such as lost profits, lost sales or a campaign that didn't perform — or for how email clients and email service providers display or deliver your email.
- Our total liability to you in any 12-month period is limited to what you paid us in that period, or USD 50 if that's more.
- None of this limits liability that can't be limited by law — in particular for damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence, or for harm to life, body or health — or your rights as a consumer.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when the service or the law changes. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change materially affects you, we'll email account holders at least 30 days before it takes effect. If you don't agree, you can cancel and delete your account before then; continuing to use Timerbeam afterwards means you accept the new terms.
14. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by Hungarian law. If something goes wrong, please write to us first at hello@timerbeam.com — most problems can be solved quickly that way. Disputes with businesses belong to the Hungarian court competent for our seat. If you're a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country you live in, and you may also bring a claim before the courts there.
